Abstract
Explica cómo son y cómo se integran las municipalidades en Costa Rica, donde el concejo
municipal es el órgano deliberativo y le corresponde la aprobación de las políticas y está formado por
puestos de elección popular: alcalde, regidores y síndicos. Incluye una perspectiva histórica que
ilustra la evolución de los Gobiernos locales y las autoridades políticas que los conducen. The article explains which are the municipalities in Costa Rica and how they are integrated. The municipal council is the deliberative body and it oversees the approval of policies. It is formed by popular election posts: mayor, council members, and councilor. It includes a historical perspective that shows the evolution of the local governments and political authorities that preside them.
