Teatro en la periferia. Representaciones del poder y de la otredad americana en los textos dramáticos de la relación "Plausibles fiestas reales" (1762)

Abstract

La presente tesis aborda el tema de las representaciones del poder y de la otredad americana en los textos dramáticos de las “Plausibles fiestas reales” (1762) con el fin de establecer continuidades y rupturas con los códigos festivos y dramáticos del siglo XVIII. La relación “Plausibles fiestas reales” (1762) describe el programa festivo de las fiestas reales a Carlos III de Borbón en la Alcaldía de la Santísima Trinidad de Sonsonate. Dentro de este marco festivo, esta investigación plantea un acercamiento a las prácticas teatrales de género breve que se efectúan en un contexto periférico del imperio español. This thesis examines the representations of power and American otherness in the dramatic texts of the "Plausibles fiestas reales" (1762) in order to establish continuities and ruptures with the festive and dramatic codes of the eighteenth century. The relación or fiesta report, "Plausibles fiestas reales" (1762), narrates the festive program of the royal festivities dedicated to Carlos III of Bourbon in the Alcaldía de la Santísima Trinidad de Sonsonate. Within this festive framework, this research proposes an approach to the theatrical practices of brief genre that took place in a peripheral context of the Spanish empire.
