The case of a young male patient, previouslyhealthy, attended at the Hospital San Juan deDios in San Jose, Costa Rica is presented. Hecomplained of fever, headache, diplopia, earacheand otorrhea. Meticilin Resistant Staphylococcusaureus (MRSA) was isolated in the ear secretionas well as in two blood cultures. CT scan showedinflammatory changes at the petrous portion ofthe temporal bone.
Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino joven, sin antecedentes médicos conocidos, quien consultó por cuadro febril agudo asociado a cefalea, diplopia, otalgia y otorrea derecha. Durante su ingreso hospitalario se documentó la presencia de Staphylococcus aureus meticilino resistente (SAMR) en la secreción de oído derecho y en dos hemocultivos. En el TAC de se observó cambios inflamatorios en la porción petrosa del hueso temporal.
