SÍNDROME COMPARTIMENTAL ABDOMINAL EN EL PACIENTE QUEMADO

Abstract

According to the World Society of Abdominal Compartment Syndrome(WSACS),the abdominal compartment syndrome is defined as "sustained intra-abdominal pressure > 20 mmHg (with or without abdominal perfusion pressure < 60 mmHg) associated with dysfunction or organ failure of recent onset "(1). It can affect different systems in the body, causing organ failure and eventually lead to death; therefore it is a diagnosis to be taken into consideration when assessing patients at risk. Surgical decompression of the abdominal cavity is the main treatment modality. El síndrome compartimental abdominal según la Sociedad Mundial del Síndrome Compartimental Abdominal (WSACS por sus siglas en inglés), se define como la “presión intraabdominal sostenida > 20 mmHg (con o sin presión de perfusión abdominal < 60 mmHg) asociada a disfunción o fallo orgánico de reciente aparición”(1). Puede afectar distintos sistemas en el organismo, ocasionar falla multiorgánica y llevar a la muerte, por lo que es un diagnóstico a tener en consideración a la hora de valorar a pacientes en riesgo. La descompresión quirúrgica de la cavidad abdominal es la modalidad de tratamiento.
