The gastric epithelial dysplasia is a precursor lesion for the development of gastric carcinoma, wich makes it a very important pathology to evaluate in the general population, hystorically there's been diferent attempts to standardize the classification and management, but without reaching a general consensus internationally. There is an special importance in the evidence herein described, wich envelops the experience in the San Juan de Dios Hospital and how it demonstrates that there is a need for both public and institutional politics to be able to make a significant impact in the suvival rates  of this patients.

In the past few years, there has been a  raising concern about the spread use of chemical synthetic substances, non-illegal, which its apparent purpose is to be used as “incense” or “bath salts”, but in fact, their components are synthetic cannabinoids or stimulant drugs. Because its condition of non-illegal, they are sold over the counter and can be reached for any person. There are reports in the medical literature, mainly associated to mental disturbances and psychosis. It is imperative to know the presence of this kind of toxic substances, their clinical manifestations and treatment, as well as to motivate the authorities to generate the appropriate strategies to limit its use.

FEMENINA 59 AÑOS CON ARTERITIS DE TAKAYASU
(2011-12-01 00:00:00) Fiedler Velásquez, Eduardo; Fernández Vieto, Jaime; Ramírez Salas, Melissa
Background: Takayasu´s arteritis is a granulomatous vasculitis that affects mainly young women up to 30 years old. It's a rare and infrequent condition.  We report a late diagnostic case with images showing important collateral vessel formation. Case description: A 59-year old woman was admitted to the Internal Medicine Department, having previously been  diagnosed with hypertension at age of 29 and never been studied by a secondary cause.  At the present  time shewas admitted due to a heart attack without ST elevation  and a doppler ultrasound performed showed absence of flow on both carotid arteries. A CT scan demonstrated an important formation of collateral vessels that nourished the right subclavian artery through the posterior cervical region. Upon physical examination, there were no pulses but the left radial and right pedial. Conclusion: Takayasu´s arteritis should be considered into the differential diagnosis of secondary causes of high blood pressure. In this particular case, the diagnosis was made by CT scan characteristic findings, which can be helpful when collateral vessels and absence of flow of the main vessels are present.
